What is Simracing?
A simdriver does require skill, patience and a lot of practice. A natural ability to race will only get you in one of the many leagues or championships, but do you really have what it takes to succeed and actually win some races? This question can only be answered by competing among friends, in national leagues or even international championships.
At first a keyboard or joystick will suffice to simrace for fun, but when the competition gets fiercer, a wheel and pedals are essential. Together with the high demand on the computer to run the physics engines for the software applications to actually race, you do need to be a bit of a die-hard. But you can ask any simracer, it will definitely be worth it.
For most people this is as close as they will ever get to real racing. However, there is an upside as well, because an online crash doesn’t result in physical injury. Although there are rumors some drivers do get a headache or two. Up and foremost it is fun to simrace and compete with friends and colleagues.
