This afternoon our reporter met with Patrick in the very busy pits and asked him some questions. Patrick shares his thoughts on the possibilities and lost moments of the current season.
This is your maiden season in the F1Career-championship. Why did you ultimately decide to enter the championship mid-season?
“The best Italian drivers compete in this championship. Last year I was offered a wildcard to drive a few races and this year they asked me again. I didn’t want to pass on this wonderful opportunity and decided to drive, if a seat was available.”
You’re a very ambitious driver. The championship is more or less decided and you need a miracle to become champion this year. Do you regret entering the championship mid-season?
“No, I don’t regret entering the championship at all. A championship would be fantastic, but I was mainly aiming for consistancy and getting to know and improve the car. Scoring points, if possible a few podiums and maybe even a win.”
What were your expactations coming into the championship?
“For this championship I didn’t have any expactations. Entering mid-season and driving yet another car in a new championship takes time, but luckily the TBT-car drives really smoothly.”
Were there any surprises this season?
“The biggest surprise of all was me winning all three races I started. Something a driver can only dream of! Furthermore, I can only say that I really enjoy driving the TBT-car in this championship.”
Unfortunately Patrick didn’t have too much time for us, but he promised to meet with us again after the Monza-race.
